Tom Kelley is in his 14th year as Director of Athletics at
Framingham State University and has been involved with the
athletics department for the past 30 years. Since taking over
as Athletic Director in 1994, Tom has changed the look of the
coaching staff in every program and was instrumental in the
addition of women's lacrosse as a varsity sport.
A 1976 graduate of Framingham State College, Kelley was a
four-year starter at defensive tackle for the Rams. He
returned to Framingham State in 1978 as an assistant football coach
and assumed the head coaching job in 1982. Kelley served as head
coach from 1982-1985 and returned to coaching again in 2001 as an
assistant coach.
Kelley returned to coaching again after the 2006 football season
when he once again took over as head coach of the Rams football
program and led them to a 2-7 record in his first season back on
the sideline. In 2008 Kelley guided the Rams to a 5-5 mark, which
was the Rams best finish since the 1986 season. Kelley also
saw the Rams first single season 1,000 yard rusher in the 36 years
of Framingham State football.
Kelley holds a master's degree in psychology counseling from
Boston State College and lives in Milford with his wife Jackie.
Aynsley Rosenbaum is beginning his fourth year as the Rams
offensive coordinator. Under his guidance the Rams offense
has continued to improve in each of his three seasons. In
2010 the Rams broke 10 individual offensive records and established
a new single season team points record. The 2010 Rams scored 374
points, averaging 34.0 points per game, and surpassed the old mark
of 233 which was established in 1990. The 2010 Rams ranked
first in the NEFC in passing offense and pass efficiency and ranked
second in scoring offense, total offense, first downs and third
down conversions.
In his three seasons Rosenbaum has coached the first three
single season 1,000 yard rushers in school history, including the
NEFC Bogan Division Rookie of the Year, as well as the first single
season 1,000 yard receiver. In total, 12 players have been
selected NEFC All-Division on the offensive side of the ball in the
last three years including two all-division quarterbacks.
Before coaching the Rams, Rosenbaum spent seven seasons with the
Arlington Catholic High School football program where they won
three Catholic Central Titles and made two trips to the
post-season. At Arlington Catholic Rosenbaum coached three
All-Scholastic quarterback and two All-State receivers.
Rosenbaum was a running back and kick return man for the Rams
from 1995-97. He led the Rams in rushing in 1995 and
1996. He currently shares the FSU record for longest kickoff
return with an 88 yard return against Mass. Maritime during the
1996 season. Rosenbaum, who graduated with a degree in
sociology from Framingham State, averaged 19.3 yards per return
during his career.
He is currently a Humanities and English as a Second Language
teacher at Arlington Middle School in Lawrence and resides in
Andover with his wife Melissa.
Jeff Moore is entering his first season with the Framingham
State University football program and will serve as the defensive
coordinator and defensive line coach.
Moore spent the 2010 season as the head varsity football coach
at Lowell High School. Prior to that Moore was the head varsity
football coach at Dracut High school, where he led The Middies to
their first Super Bowl championship (2008) in twenty
years. His Dracut defense shut out Marshfield
27-0.
As head coach at Dracut he was named 2008 Lowell Sun Coach of
the Year, 2008 New England Patriots Coach of the Week, and 2009 MVC
Coach of the Year. He was also the Head Football Coach/Strength and
Conditioning Coach at The Prestigious Groton School in 2007.
His overall record was 28-17 including two playoff appearances and
one State Championship. Prior to his head coaching days,
Moore served as an assistant coach at Lowell High from 1992-99,
North Andover High (OC) 2000-03, and Dracut High (DC) 2004-07
Coach Moore is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts,
Lowell, where he played football for the Chiefs. After leaving
UMass Lowell, Moore played for the Merrimack Valley
Outlaws and Gr. Lowell Nor’Easters.
Moore holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from
Western New England College and is employed as a Police Officer in
the City of Lowell. He currently resides in Nashua, NH with
his wife, Kerry, and daughter Kayleigh.
Gavin Fitts is entering his third season with the Framingham
State football program and will serve as special teams coordinator
and defensive backs coach. Fitts spent the previous three
seasons as the head varsity football coach at the Dexter School in
Brookline, where he continues to teach mathematics and coach ice
hockey and baseball. A 2002 graduate of Hamilton College, he
played both football and baseball for the Continentals. Fitts
holds a master’s degree in coaching and physical education
from Boston University. He currently resides in Charlestown
with his wife, Whitney, daughter, Chandler, and their two dogs.
Patrick Kelley is entering his fifth season with the Rams and
will be working with the defensive line. Prior to joining the
Ram’s coaching staff, Kelley attended UMass Amherst from
1999-2003 and graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science. From
2003-2007, Coach Kelley played semi-professional football for the
Woonsocket Sentinels of the NEFL. Kelley, a 2008 graduate of
the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, grew up in Milford, MA and
currently resides there.
Bryan Ibbitson is in second season with the Rams coaching staff
and will be working with the offensive line. Ibbitson was a
four year starter on both the offensive and defensive lines during
his career as a Ram. Ibbitson graduated from Framingham State
in 2009 with a degree in history. He currently works as a
middle school teacher and resides in Lawrence.
Troy Askew is in his fifth season with the Rams and his third as
an assistant with the defense and special teams. Previously, he
worked primarily with the quarterbacks and running backs.
Askew has coached the offensive line, defensive line and special
teams at Madison Park Vocational Technical High School, which is
part of the Boston Public School System. Coach Askew is
currently a Boston School Police Officer and is pursuing his degree
in Criminal Justice at UMass Boston. Coach Askew has two
children, Bryana and Troy, Jr.
