Waterville, Maine – Senior guard Royce Veal (Dorchester, Mass.) scored 11 of his team-high 16 points in the second half as the Framingham State University men's basketball team won the consolation game of the Colby College Men's Basketball Invitational 75-64 over Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday afternoon.
Forward Brendan Carter (South Boston, Mass.), an all-tournament team selection for Framingham State (3-6), added eight points and seven rebounds. Junior guard Allen Saint- Surin (Brockton, Mass.) added nine points and seven boards, while freshman Layo Medina (Brockton, Mass.) and sophomore Ceasar Veal (Dorchester, Mass.) had eight points apiece. Medina also finished with a team-high four assists.
Paul Campbell (Camden, Maine) scored a game-high 20 points for the Mariners (3-4). Shawn Dostie (Bowdoinham, Maine), an all-tournament selection, shot 5-for-6 from the field for 12 points to go along with eight rebounds and three assists. Tyler Pineo (Corinth, Maine) also had 12 points and Dom Drake (Brewer, Maine) finished with a game-high 10 assists and three steals.
