Veal Named ECAC Division III New England Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week
Framingham, Mass. —Framingham State University senior guard Royce Veal (Dorchester, Mass.) has been selected the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending January 16th. Veal earns his first ECAC Player of the Week and shares the honor with Middlebury College sophomore guard Nolan Thompson.
Veal, who also earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player of the Week honors this week, averaged a double double of 21.5 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and 4.5 steals in a 1-1 week for the Rams. Veal picked up career-highs in both points and rebounds with 26 points and 14 boards in a 74-70 victory over Bridgewater State. Veal was only two assists shy of a triple double as he finished the game with eight assists to go along with five steals.
The Rams (5-8, 2-1 MASCAC) return to action on Thursday as they travel to MCLA at 7:30 p.m.
