Framingham, Mass. – Curry senior Ben Silvia capped off his hat trick with a game-winning goal in the 107th minute to lead the Colonels over Framingham State in non-conference action. With the win the Colonels even up at 2-2-1 while the Rams slide to 2-3.
The Rams opened up scoring in the 13th minute when Ken Stahovish (Springfield, Mass.) scored his first of two goals in the first half. Pedro Santos (Medford, Mass.) sent a long lead pass to Stahovish, which created a breakaway for the Rams.
In the 32nd minute Stahovish scored beating the goalie left to right after a long feed from Justin Hansen (Levittown, Mass.).
The Colonels scored three goals in quick succession in the second half to take a 3-2 lead. In the 64th minute Ben Silvia (Dartmouth, Mass.) sent in a one-time pass from Brandon Rinaldi (Watertown, Conn.). Just 61 seconds later Silvia scored again with Christian Mancini (Woodbury, Conn.) assisting. The visitors took the lead in the 70th minute when Giancarlo Orsini (Watertwon, Conn.) scored with Ari Mench (Kailua Kona, HI) assisting.
The Rams responded in the 79th minute sending a long strike from 18 yards out off a failed clear by the Curry defense.
Late in regulation the Colonels had a chance to take the lead back off a corner but he Curry header hit the crossbar.
Silvia hit the game-winner off a corner sent in again from Mancini.
The Colonels outshot the Rams 24-to-14 and took 16 corners to the Rams 3.
The Rams return to action on Saturday, September 16th when they host Westfield State in MASCAC action scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Curry hosts Salve Regina on the same day at 2:00 p.m.
