Coach Vlahakis enters her second season as the Rams assistant
women’s basketball coach. Vlahakis helped coach the Rams to a
first round playoff spot last season as well as coaching the 2011
the MASCAC rookie of the year and a second team all-conference
player.
Prior to her arrival, Coach Vlahakis was an assistant coach at
Simmons College from 2007-2010 where she helped coach the Sharks to
a 44-29 record and three GNAC playoff appearances. In her three
seasons she coached first and second team all-conference players as
well as coaching an athlete who is currently playing professionally
overseas.
An experienced clinician, Vlahakis has been a head coach for
Mass Elite AAU and is actively involved in camps and clinics from
the middle school to high school levels.
A Lebanon, New Hampshire native, Vlahakis played for nationally
ranked St. Lawrence University where she earned all-tournament
recognition and was named the most improved player in 2003.
While at St. Lawrence, Vlahakis was a member of the Saints team
that posted a perfect Liberty League season record, earned
conference championships, and made NCAA tournament appearances.
Prior to arriving at St. Lawrence, Vlahakis attended the
Holderness School where she was a four year starter and four year
NEPSAC all-conference player. Vlahakis was the first player, male
or female, at the Holderness School to score 1,000 points.
Vlahakis, who holds a CPT from the National Strength and
Conditioning Association, earned a B.S. in psychology from St.
Lawrence University, and will graduate from Southern New Hampshire
University in 2012 with an MBA with a specialization in Athletic
Administration.
