Volleyball Splits Matches with Husson and Mt. Holyoke

South Hadley, Mass. - The Framingham State University volleyball team took their opening match of the day 3-1 over Husson University before dropping a heated five setter 3-2 to host Mt. Holyoke this afternoon in non-conference action at Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium.

-Scores:  Framingham State 3, Husson 1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-9, 25-18) 
Mt. Holyoke 3, Framingham State 2 (25-13, 24-26, 25-22,23-25, 15-13)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

FSU 3, Husson 1 

  • After falling 25-23 in the opening set, the Rams took three straight by scores of 25-20, 25-9, 25-18 to secure the victory. 

  • Natalie Reynolds paced the Rams on the attack with 11 kills on 21 swings with no errors for a .524 hitting percentage. 

  • Stella Bailey finished the match with 24 sets assists and a team-best seven service aces. 

MHC 3, FSU  2 

  • Against Mount Holyoke, the Rams received nine kills and five blocks from Reynolds, while Lowe finished the match with six kills and three digs. 

  • DiVirgilio led the back row effort with 19 defensive digs and four service aces, while Bailey finished the match with 26 assists, 12 digs and three aces.

The Rams are back in action Tuesday when they travel to Suffolk at 7 p.m.
