Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State University Director of Athletics Tom Kelley is pleased to announce the hiring of Donny Smith as an assistant athletic trainer and strength and conditioning specialist.  Smith will work with the Rams 14 varsity sports planning and implementing in-season and off-season strength & conditioning programs as well as serve as an athletic trainer.

"We are pleased to have someone with the wide range of expertise like Donny to help enhance our programs as both a strength coach and athletic trainer," said Kelley. "We know he will be a great asset towards our student-athlete's success."

Smith completed his master's degree in athletic training in 2019 from Thomas Jefferson University where he also served as a student athletic trainer at various intercollegiate institutions and high schools. Smith received his certification as strength & conditioning specialist in 2016 and has worked as a personal trainer as well as completed a strength & conditioning internship at West Virginia University.

Smith earned his bachelor's degree from West Virginia University in Sport and Exercise Psychology with a minor in Strength & Conditioning.
