Baseball Slated to Finish Fourth in MASCAC Preseason Poll
Westfield, Mass.— The Framingham State University baseball team that was MASCAC Co-Regular Season Champions in 2023 have been slated to finish fourth in the 2024 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Preseason poll in voting conducted by the league's coaches.
Framingham State sits in the fourth spot with 33 points. After earning All-Conference last season, Ryan Boyle returns for the Rams after hitting .384 on the year with 53 hits on the year and a .652 slugging percentage. Boyle recorded 10 doubles and nine home runs with 52 RBI and added a .983 fielding percentage.
2023 MASCAC co-regular season and tournament champions Bridgewater State has been slated in the top spot with 49 points and seven first place votes. Westfield State claimed the second spot with the remaining first place vote and 39 points. Mass. Maritime took third with 34 points, while Worcester State landed in fifth with 27 points. Rounding out the poll are Fitchburg State in sixth (20), Salem State in seventh (15) and MCLA in eighth (7).
While non-conference play begins the end of February and beginning of March for the MASCAC schools, conference competition will get underway the weekend of March 28-30.
