Baseball Tabbed to Finish Fifth in 2025 MASCAC Preseason Poll
Framingham, Mass. – The MASCAC Regular Season Framingham State University baseball team has been slated to finish fifth in the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Preseason Poll in voting conducted by the league's coaches.
The Rams were chosen to finish fifth in the tallying 27 points. Returning for the Rams are infielders Dane Frellick, Daniel Robichaud and JC Espinal as well as outfielder Lucas Basile who were all second team All-MASCAC selections in 2024. Frellick batted .400 a season ago with five doubles, a triple, a home run and 21 RBI, while Robichaud hit .394 with 11 doubles, a triple, six home runs and 35 RBI. Basile hit .363 with 24 RBI, while Espinal batted .346 and drove in 34 runs.
Bridgewater State claimed the top spot in the poll with 45 total points and five first place votes. Westfield State secured the second spot with 43 points and two first place votes, while Mass. Maritime and Salem State claimed the third spot with 33 points apiece. The Vikings received the final first place vote. Rounding out the poll are Worcester State in sixth (20 points), Fitchburg State in seventh (16 points) and MCLA in eighth (seven points).
The Rams open the season on March 6th at Emerson.
