Sixth Seed Baseball Falls 3-2 to Second Seed Mass. Maritime

Buzzards Bay, Mass. - The sixth seeded Framingham State University baseball team was defeated 3-2 by second seed Massachusetts Maritime as the Bucs walked off with the victory in one quarterfinal of the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Tournament at Hendy Field.  With the loss, the Rams will now face fifth seed Salem State tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. in an elimination game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Bucs took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI double. 

  • Dane Frellick led off the second with a single and Daniel Robichaud followed with a two-run home run to center field putting the Rams up 2-1. 

  • The Bucs tied the game in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run from Jake Huston. 

  • The Bucs had runners on first and second with one out in the bottom of the seventh but could not push across a run as Rams Ben Respress got a ground ball for a double play to end the inning. 

  • After keeping the Rams off the board in the top of the ninth, the Bucs walked off with a 3-2 victory in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single to right. 

  • Respress took the loss in relief for the Rams. Respress went 2.2 innings allowing one earned run on two hits with a strikeout. 

  • Keith Ramsey started on the mound for the Rams and did not factor in the decision. Ramsey went six innings allowing two earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts. 

  • Frellick finished the game 2-for-4, while Robichaud went 1-for-4 with two RBI.
