Baseball Drops a Pair at Worcester State

WorcesterMass. - The Framingham State University baseball team was defeated 10-5 and 12-0 by Worcester Statin Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Kevin D Lyons Diamond.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • In game one, the Lancers jumped out to a 5-0 lead before the Rams got on the board with two runs in the top of the fourth.  Christian Cox launched a solo home run and Johnny Lynch followed with a solo shot of his own. 

  • Worcester State pushed the lead to 10-2 after six innings, but the Rams capped the scoring with three in the seventh. Massimo Mondi plated two runs with a double to left and Lynch added a sacrifice fly.   

  • Cox finished the game 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, while Lynch and Mondi each finished with two hits and two RBI. 

  • The Lancers took control of game two in the bottom of the first inning when they plated seven runs. 

  • Rosco Palmer went 2-for-3 in the game for the Rams, while Mondi finished the game 1-for-4. 

  • Nicholas Kutcher took the loss going one inning, allowing seven runs on five hits.
