Football Tabbed to Finish Fourth in 2024 MASCAC Football Preseason Poll

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University football team has been tabbed to finish fourth in the 2024 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Preseason Poll in voting conducted by the league's ten coaches. 

The Rams claimed the fourth spot in the poll with 56 total points after finishing the 2023 season 5-4 overall and 5-3 in MASCAC action.  Returning for the Rams in 2024 is running back and kick returner Joshua Ramos who finished 2023 averaging 7.5 yards per rush with two touchdowns.  Ramos also averaged 46.7 yards per kick return and returned one 81 yards for a touchdown. Also, returning for the Rams is All-MASCAC kicker Matthew Farley who went 2-for-3 on field goals in 2023 with a long of 27 and converted 21 of 22 extra points. 

Reigning MASCAC Regular Season Champion UMass Dartmouth claimed the top spot in this year's poll with 76 total points and four first place votes. Slipping into second with 74 total points and four first place votes in WestConn, while Bridgewater State landed in third and claimed the final two first place votes with 68 total points. 

Plymouth State claimed the fifth spot with 49 points, while Mass. Maritime was slated for sixth with 39 points. Westfield State grabbed 32 points and the seventh spot, while new conference football affiliate member VT State-Castleton was slated for eighth with 27 points. Worcester State and FItchburg State round out the poll in ninth and tenth with 15 and 13 points respectively. 

The Rams open the 2024 season on Saturday, September 7thwhen they travel to Husson University at 1 p.m.
