Plymouth State Rushes Past Football 41-20

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University football team was defeated 41-20 this afternoon by Plymouth State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Bowditch Field. 

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Plymouth State 41, Framingham State 20 

-Records: Framingham State (2-6, 2-5 MASCAC), Plymouth State (4-3, 4-3 MASCAC) 

- Location: Bowditch Field – Framingham, Mass. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Panthers amassed 471 yards of offense in the game including 373 yards rushing, while the Rams totaled a balanced 254 yards of offense in the game with 123 rushing yards and 131 passing yards. 

  • EJ Nichols paced the Rams completing 14-of-20 for 123 yards with a touchdown and a pick. Nichols also rushed for 50 yards on seven carries. 

  • Makoto Uchikawa rushed for 61 yards on eight attempts, while Ayden Ramirez made five catches for 74 yards in the game. 

  • Juan Reynolds led the defense with nine tackles including eight solo, while Nate Florio finished the game with eight solo stops. 

  • Plymouth received 231 yards rushing and four touchdowns from Willie Lombard. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Panthers received a pair of rushing touchdowns from Lombard in the first quater to lead 13-0 after one. 

  • They extended the lead on Lombard's third of the day to open the second quarter, but the Rams responded with a two yard touchdown run from Camari Glasgow cutting the deficit to 20-7. 

  • Plymouth closed the half with a score to lead 27-7 at the break. 

  • The Rams opened the third quarter with an 11 play, 73 yard drive capped by a two yard touchdown reception from Ty Kelley to close the gap to 27-13. 

  • Plymouth added two scores in the fourth before Nichols scored on a 13 yard run with just over five minutes to play to reach the final margin.
