Roland and Marcucella Earn MASCAC Football Weekly Honors
Framingham, Mass. - Freshman quarterback Michael Marcucella (Foxboro, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Rookie of the Week and senior defensive end Kymauny Roland (Canton, Mass.) has been named the MASCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 5th.
Marcucella earns his second straight rookie of the week honor after completing 16 of 24 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams' 22-12 win over Fitchburg State. Marcucella threw touchdown passes of 20 and 69 yards both in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Roland made four tackles, including two sacks for a loss of 15 yards, a forced fumble and fumble recovery and a blocked extra point that the Rams ran back for two points in their 22-12 win over Fitchburg State. Roland helped the Rams defense hold Fitchburg State to only 44 yards rushing on the day.
