Football Defeats Dean 31-6 on Senior Day

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University football team defeated Dean College 31-6 this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Bowditch Field. 

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Framingham State 31, Dean 6 

-Records: Framingham State (6-3, 6-2 MASCAC), Dean (0-9, 0-8 MASCAC) 

- Location: Bowditch Field Framingham, Mass. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams amassed 336 yards of total offense in the game, while holding the Bulldogs to just 105 yards of offense, including negative yards rushing. 

  • Michael Marcucella completed 14-of-23 pass attempts for 159 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, while Anthony Gerrior completed 4-of-12 for 36 yards with a pick. Gerrior also rushed for 33 yards on four carries. 

  • Ayden Ramirez made three catches for 52 yards and a touchdown, thile Adrian Sarrette made three catches for 32 yards. 

  • Blake Barron paced the defense with 10 tackles including seven solo, half a sack and one tackle for a loss. 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Rams got on the board on their opening possession of the game on a 24-yard field goal from Ty Kelley. 

  • The Rams extended the lead to 10-0 on a 24-yard touchdown pass from Marcucella to Ramirez with just over two to play in the first quarter. 

  • Dean got on the board on 100-yard interception return from Jalon Brewer. Brewer deflected a pass in the end zone, caught his own deflection and scampered down the sideline for the Bulldogs only score of the game. 

  • The Rams would tack on 21 points in the third quarter to reach the final margin.  Makoto Uchikawa scored on a five-yard run, and Ransford Adri found the endzone from two yards out.  Gerrior capped the scoring with a one-yard touchdown run as time expired in the third. 

 

 UP NEXT: 

The Rams close out the regular season next Saturday when they travel to Worcester State at 12 p.m.
