Field Hockey Falls 7-4 at Lasell

Auburndale, Mass. – Sophomore Finley Hogan and junior Mikayla Malmquist each netted a pair of goals, but the Framingham State field hockey team came up short in a 7-4 road loss at Lasell University Wednesday evening at Grellier Field. 

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Lasell 7, Framingham State 4 

  • Records: Framingham State (1-1), Lasell (1-1) 

  • Location: Grellier Field – Auburndale, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Hogan wasted no time, scoring unassisted just under four minutes in to put the Rams up 1-0. 

  • Lasell answered with three goals in a nine-minute span—Mara Boldy, Brooklyn Northcutt, and Megan Crabtree—to seize a 3-2 lead after the first quarter. 

  • Northcutt added her second in the 30th minute, giving the Lasers a 4-2 cushion at the half. 

  • Framingham rallied after the break: Hogan notched her second (31st minute) and Malmquist buried her second (43rd) to tie the game 4-4. 

  • Lasell regained control behind goals from Halleen Seguin (45'), Crabtree (51') and Northcutt (57'), closing out the 7-4 result. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Hogan and Malmquist combined for all four Framingham goals on eight total shots. 

  • Kaitlyn Tello turned aside 23 saves while facing 43 Lasell attempts. 

  • Lasell's attack was paced by Northcutt's hat trick and Crabtree's two-goal, one-assist outing. 

  • Penalty corners heavily favored Lasell (17-4).
