Field Hockey Falls to Worcester State in High-Scoring Battle

Worcester, MA - The Framingham State field hockey team fell to Worcester State with a final score of 7-5. The game, held at Coughlin Field on September 27, 2025, saw both teams showcasing their offensive prowess. 

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Worcester State 7, Framingham State 5 

  • Records: Framingham State (1-8, 0-4 MASCAC), Worcester State (1-7, 1-2 MASCAC) 

  • Location: Worcester, Mass. - Coughlin Field 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Worcester State opened the scoring early in the first period with a goal from Kae Coleman, assisted by Kaylie Ciccone. 

  • Worcester State regained the lead with a goal from Allison Keenan, assisted by Emily Curran. 

  • In the second period, Framingham State's Reese Neale scored an unassisted goal to tie the game at 2-2. 

  • Worcester State then scored two consecutive goals, one from Katelynn Swistak (assisted by Abby Matta) and another from Kaylie Ciccone (assisted by Emily Curran), to take a 4-2 lead. 

  • Worcester State's Kaylie Ciccone scored three goals in the fourth period, two of which were assisted by Kylie Casey and Charlotte MacGregor, to secure the victory. 

  • Framingham State's Chloe Moynihan scored a late goal, assisted by Finley Hogan, but it wasn't enough to overcome Worcester State's lead. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Framingham State's Finley Hogan had a standout performance with one goal and two assists. 

  • Worcester State's Kaylie Ciccone was the top scorer with four goals and one assist. 

  • Framingham State's goalkeeper Kaitlyn Tello made 15 saves, while Worcester State's goalkeeper Lizzy MacDonald made 9 saves. 

  • Framingham State had a total of 16 shots, with 14 on goal, while Worcester State had 33 shots, with 22 on goal. 

  • Both teams had a high number of penalty corners, with Framingham State earning 10 and Worcester State earning 11.
