Men's Basketball Cruises Past Emerson to Open the Season

Boston, Mass. – The Framingham State University men's basketball team defeated Emerson College 71-62 to open the season this evening in the opening round of the Emerson College Tournament. With the victory the Rams advance to the Championship game tomorrow evening where they will face Wentworth.

The Rams received 13 points off the bench on 4-of-9 shooting from junior Jamie Henderson (Cedar Hill, TX), while freshmen Charles Collins (Lynn, Mass.) and Dan Gould (Quincy, Mass.) chipped in with 12 points apiece in their first collegiate action.  Senior Yemi Ajao (Randolph, Mass.) had a solid outing with nine points on 3-of-6 from the field and seven rebounds, while junior Patrick Cuff (Medway, Mass.) chipped in with 11 points and five boards.

The Rams trailed by three at the half (27-24), but outscored the hosts 47-35 in the second to secure their first victory of the season.
