Strong Second Half Sends Men’s Basketball Past Regis 84-71

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team started the second half with a 12-0 run and held Regis to just two points in the first eight minutes of the second half as the Rams defeated the Pride 84-71 in non-conference action tonight at Logan Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams saw all five starters record double figures in the game led by a team-high 19 points from Dyree Rogers. Rogers connected on 6-of-8 from the floor and added three rebounds and two assists. 

  • Fallou Koite chipped in with 18 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals, while Dominick Victor finished the night with a double double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. 

  • Vondre Chase added 15 points, nine rebounds and three steals, while Lorenzo Washington finished the game with 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. 

  • In the first half, the two teams traded the lead with neither team leading by more than four until Regis used back-to-back threes to lead 32-24 with just under five to play in the half. 

  • The Rams closed the half with an 8-2 run capped by a Vondre Chase three to go to the locker room trailing 34-32. 

  • The Rams scored the first 12 points of the second half and led 44-34 with just under 16 minutes on the clock. 

  • The Rams held Regis to just two points in the first eight minutes of the second half as they built the lead to 51-36 with under 12 to go in the second. 

  • The Rams maintained the double-digit advantage until the game's closing minutes when the Pride cut the deficit to nine on multiple occasions but could get no closer as the Rams held on for the victory.
