Men's Soccer Remains Unbeaten in MASCAC Play

Framingham, MA - The Framingham State College men's soccer team remained unbeaten in Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action today with a 1-0 win over the Lancers of Worcester State. With the win, the Rams are 2-0-1 in conference and 8-1-1 overall while the Lancer fall to 4-5-2 overall and 1-2-0 in the MASCAC.

Senior midfielder Mike Jones (Norwood, MA) scored the game winner in the 33rd minute of play he placed a shot in the top corner out of the Lancer goal keeper's reach.  Fellow senior Karol Tegha (Lynn, MA) assisted on the game winning tally.

The Rams outshot the Lancers 18-8 in the game and had several opportunities to extend their lead but Lancer goal keeper Daniel Hansen (Worcester, MA) made 10 saves and kept them within striking distance.  Rams sophomore goalie Greg Halle (Beverly, MA) made five stops and picked up his 5th shutout win of the season.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday as the Rams host WPI at 3:30 p.m., while the Lancers travel to Western Connecticut at 7 p.m.
