Men’s Soccer Wins Over UMass Dartmouth; 4-2

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State Rams men's soccer team secured a decisive 4-2 victory over the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs in an exciting match held at Maple St. Field on Tuesday evening.  

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Framingham State 4, Mass.-Dartmouth 2 

  • Records: Framingham State (2-2-0), Mass.-Dartmouth (3-2-0) 

  • Location: Maple St. Field, Framingham, MA 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Corsairs struck first with a goal by Lennon Rodrigues, assisted by Jack Martin, at the 6:13 mark of the first half. 

  • The Rams responded with two goals from Kaio Santos Da Silva, the first unassisted at 24:02 and the second assisted by Michael Jokic at 30:39, giving Framingham State a 2-1 lead at halftime. 

  • Mass.-Dartmouth equalized in the second half with a goal from Joey Renquinha, assisted by Matt Kobrenski, at 60:28. 

  • Jack Holt put the Rams back in the lead with an unassisted goal at 71:51. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Framingham State's goalkeeper, Colin Holt, made an impressive 12 saves, while Mass.-Dartmouth's Ethan Donahue recorded 5 saves. 

  • The Rams had 17 shots, with 9 on goal, while the Corsairs had 23 shots, with 14 on goal. 

  • Both teams displayed strong defensive efforts, with Framingham State committing 13 fouls and Mass.-Dartmouth committing 12. 

  • The match saw four yellow cards, two for each team. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Worcester State in MASCAC action at 11am. The Corsaits will travel to Southern Maine on Saturday for a noon LEC clash.
