Worcester State Edges Men’s Soccer in MASCAC Clash

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State men's soccer team fell to the Worcester State Lancers with a final score of 2-1 in a closely contested match at Maple Street Field. Despite finding the equalizer in the first half, the Rams were unable to overcome a second-half goal by the Lancers.

  • Worcester State struck first with a goal by Taylor Gavaletz, assisted by Wilber Garcia, at the 4:54 mark of the first half. 

  • The game-winning goal came from the Lancer's Nick Guidi, unassisted, at 57:50 in the second half. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Worcester St. outshot Framingham St. 21-11, with 12 shots on goal compared to Framingham St.'s 8. 

  • Framingham St. goalkeeper Colin Holt made 10 saves, while Worcester St.'s Tobias Schneider recorded 7 saves. 

  • Both teams committed 16 fouls, and a total of five yellow cards were issued during the match.
