Men's Soccer Falls Short in Thriller Against Westfield State on Senior Day

Framingham, MA - In a high-octane match at Maple St. Field, Framingham State Rams fell just short against the Westfield State Owls, with a final score of 5-4. Despite a valiant effort, the Rams couldn't overcome the Owls' offensive onslaught.

  • Records: Westfield State (7-3-4, 3-1-2 MASCAC), Framingham State (5-8-2, 2-4-0 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Owls struck first with a goal by Nick Parakilas at 2:24, assisted by Dylan Wesley. 

  • Westfield State tied it up at 21:44 with an unassisted goal by Dylan Wesley. 

  • In the second half, Parakilas scored two more goals, one at 49:20 assisted by Paul Whalley, and another at 56:38 assisted by Enzo Mazza, giving the Owls a 4-2 lead. 

  • Kaio Santos Da Silva completed his hat-trick with an unassisted goal at 65:27, bringing the Rams within one. 

  • Parakilas scored his fourth goal at 80:39, assisted by Enzo Mazza, to extend the Owls' lead to 5-3. 

  • Santos Da Silva scored his fourth goal at 81:58, assisted by Thiago Magalhaes, but the Rams couldn't find the equalizer. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Colin Holt made five saves in goal for the Rams. 

  • Nick Parakilas was the standout for the Owls with four goals. 

  • Dylan Wesley added a goal and an assist for Westfield State. 

  • Luke Theroux made four saves in goal for the Owls
