Carpenter, Moran and Jensen Earn MASCAC Weekly Honors
Framingham, MA – Senior outfielder Gwendolyn Carpenter (Ashley Falls, Mass.) has been selected the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player of the Week for the week, senior pitcher Ally Moran (Wilmington, Mass.) has been selected the MASCAC Pitcher of the Week and freshman Haley Jensen (Meriden, Conn.) has been selected the MASCAC Rookie of the Week for the week ending May 12th.
Carpenter earned Tournament MVP honors after batting .526 (10-19) with six doubles, a home run, seven RBI, seven runs scored, three walks, a stolen base, .609 on-base percentage and 1.000 slugging percentage to guide the Rams to their third straight MASCAC Tournament title. Carpenter went 4-for-8 with two doubles, a grand slam, four RBI and two runs scored in the championship game series doubleheader sweep of Westfield State. She went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in the 6-3 semifinal win over Worcester State.
Moran finished the MASCAC Tournament with a 2-1 record with two complete games, 2.80 ERA, 10 strikeouts, 10 earned runs and three walks while helping the Rams to their third straight MASCAC Tournament title. Moran threw a one hit shutout with three strikeouts in the game one championship win. She pitched all 13 innings in the 11-10 quarterfinal win over Worcester State.
Jensen batted .444 (8-18) with two doubles, five RBI and six runs scored as the Rams claimed their third straight MASCAC Tournament title. Jensen went 3-for-6 with a double, RBI and two runs scored in the championship doubleheader sweep of Westfield State.
