Softball Places Five on 2025 All-MASCAC Teams

Framingham, MA – The 2025 Framingham State University softball team saw five players recognized with selection to the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball All-Conference Teams as voted on by league's coaches and announced by the conference office this afternoon. 

Senior second baseman  Brooke Grassia (Danvers, Mass.) was selected to the first team, while sophomore first baseman Eliza Carignan (Epsom, NH), graduate student shortstop Makayla Rooney (Peabody, Mass.), freshman outfielder  Ellie Etemad-Gilbertson (Boston, Mass.) and freshman pitcher  Audrey Gauthier (Dexter, Mich.) have been selected to the second team. 

Grassia earns first team honors after an outstanding final season with the Rams that saw her bat .426 with 46 runs scored, 10 doubles, a triple, a home run and 17 RBI. 

Carignan earns All-MASCAC honors after batting .336 with 11 runs scored, 37 hits including 11 doubles with 28 RBI, while Rooney earns her honors after batting .392 with 36 runs scored, 12 doubles, three home runs and 27 RBI. 

Etemad-Gilbertson and Gauthier earned All-MASCAC honors after outstanding rookie seasons with the Rams.  Etemad-Gilbertson finished the regular season fifth in the MASCAC with a .456 batting average. Etemad-Gilbertson racked up 41 hits on the season including three doubles and two triple with 16 RBI while stealing 15 bases without being thrown out.  

Gauthier finished the regular season leading the MASCAC in wins, strikeouts and saves, while ranking fifth in ERA. Gauthier went 15-5 in the circle with two saves and 13 complete games. In her 122.2 innings she pitched she struck out 139 batters with an ERA of 2.91. 

The 2025 Rams finished the regular season 25-13 overall and 10-4 in MASCAC action. The Rams earned the second seed in this week's MASCAC Tournament and will host a second-round game on Thursday afternoon.
