Women's Basketball Soars Past Fitchburg State 86-34

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's basketball team saw three players tally double figures as the Rams defeated Fitchburg State 86-34 this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Logan Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by 16 points from Ava McKeon. McKeon connect on 4-of-6 from the field including 3-of-4 from behind the arc. She added two rebounds, three assists, and two steals. 

  • Kelsey Yelle tallied 14 points with eight rebounds off the bench. Yelle connected on 6-of-11 from the floor and added five boards, an assist and a steal. 

  • Faith Greene finished the game with 10 points and eight rebounds, while Jacqueline Schels added none points, nine rebounds, four assists, a steal and three blocks. 

  • After a slow start, the Rams outscored the Falcons 15-4 in the opening quarter and held the Falcons without a point until midway through the second. During that stretch, the Rams built a 24-point lead before heading to the half leading 41-14.  

  • The Rams shot 47% from the floor in the first half, while the Falcons shot just 14%.  Greene led the Rams with 10 points in the first two quarters, while Kelsey Yelle and Abigail Martin added six points apiece.
