Pair of Power Play Goals Lift Rivier Past Women’s Ice Hockey 2-1

Framingham, Mass - The Framingham State University women's ice hockey team surrendered a pair of power play goals as Rivier came from behind to defeat the Rams 2-1 this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Loring Arena.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams got on the board first in the closing minutes of the first period when Alexis Brown found the back of the net. Brown knocked in the puck off feeds from Amy Tansek and Rosie Brien. 

  • The game was 1-0 in favor of the Rams until the Raiders tallied a power play goal with just under four to play in the second tying the game at 1-1. 

  • The Raiders took the lead with their second power play goal of the game three minutes into the third period. Marina Bassett tallied both goals for Rivier. 

  • Lila Chamoun took the loss in net for the Rams but made 47 saves.
