Framingham, Mass. – Senior Brittany McLean (Walpole, Mass.) has been named the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 29th, 2012.
McLean led the Rams to a 2-0 week with six goals and four assists to go along with 12 ground balls and five caused turnovers as Framingham State secured a spot in the NEWLA post season tournament. McLean recorded two goals, two assists and five ground balls in a 13-11 win over Fitchburg State before closing the week with four goals and two assists in a 21-4 victory over Becker. On the year, McLean is second on the Rams in scoring with 34 goals and 21 assists for 55 points.
The third seed Rams square off with second seed Westfield State on Wednesday evening in one semifinal of the NEWLA tournament.
