Women's Lacrosse Earns Third Seed in 2023 MASCAC Tournament
Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse has earned the third seed in this week's Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Championship.
The Rams finished the regular season tied for second in the MASCAC standings with Bridgewater State and Worcester State at 5-2. By virtue of the league's tiebreaker policy Bridgewater State is the second seed, the Rams the third and the Lancers the fourth seed.
As the number three seed, the Rams (10-7) will host sixth seed Fitchburg State on Tuesday night in one quarterfinal. The game will be played at Maple Street Field with a 7 p.m. start. The winner of the quarterfinal will advance to the semifinals on Thursday in Bridgewater to face the second-seeded Bears, who earned a first-round bye.
Top seed Westfield State received the other first round bye and will host the winner of the #4 Worcester State/#5 Salem State quarterfinal in the other semifinal on Thursday. The winner of the two semifinals will meet on Saturday at the highest remaining seed. The winner of Saturday's final receives the MASCAC's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championships.
