Women's Lacrosse Holds Off Bridgewater State for 10-8 Victory

Bridgewater, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team held off a late charge from Bridgewater State as the Rams held on for a 10-8 victory over the Bears in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Mazzaferro Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by five goals and two assists from Hailey Baker who also added a pair of ground balls. 

  • Isabella DiMare earned the victory in net making nine saves for the Rams. 

  • The Rams grabbed a 2-0 lead three minutes into the game after goals from Green and Baker, but the Bears rattled off three straight taking a 3-0 lead.  Bosma found the back of the net late in the quarter sending the game to the second tied 3-3. 

  • Baker tallied a pair of goals to open the second quarter, but a BSU free position shot made the score 5-4 in favor of the Rams midway through the quarter. The two teams traded goals to end the frame, and the Rams went to the half leading 6-5. 

  • Baker tallied the only goal of the game in the third quarter sending the Rams to the fourth leading 7-5. 

  • The Bears struck first in the fourth, but goals from Bosma and DeBellis put the Rams up 9-7 with just over seven minutes to play. The Bears tallied a pair of goals to close the gap to 9-8 with 1:35 on the clock, but a late tally from Baker sealed the victory for the Rams.
