Women’s Lacrosse Opens MASCAC Action with 16-5 Setback at Westfield State

Westfield, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team open league play with a 15-6 loss to Westfield State this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Alumni Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • After falling behind 3-0, Emma Kendzulak and Katie Pizzardi tallied goals for the Rams closing the deficit to 3-2 after one period. 

  • The Owls strukc for two goals to open the second before Sarah Lewis scored an unassisted marker cutting the deficit to 5-3 with just over nine to play. 

  • The Owls closed the half with four straight goals to lead 9-3 at the half. 

  • Alessia Lye pulled the Rams to within six in the third, but the Owls scored the final three of the frame and led 13-4 after three. 

  • Both teams scored twice in the final period to reach the final margin. 

  • Kendzulak finished with a pair of goals for the Rams, while Lye finished the game with a goal and two helpers.

The Rams are back in action Wednesday when they host Southern Maine at 7 p.m.
