Milton, Mass. - Behind two goals from freshman forward Kelly Howe (Walton, NE) the Curry College women's soccer team defeated the Framingham State College Rams 3-1 in non-conference action at Walter M. Katz Field tonight.  With the win, Curry remains undefeated on the season at 3-0, while the Rams slip below .500 for the first time this season at 1-2.

Curry College took an early 1-0 lead just over ten minutes into the game when senior forward Ashley Hansbury (Chelmsford, MA) scored off a feed from junior midfielder Caitlin McKinney (Manchester, NH).  The Colonels would extend their lead to 2-0 just before the half as Howe scored her first of the day in the 38th minute.  Hansbury assisted on Howe's tally.

The Rams were outshot on the day 17-15 by Curry and the Colonels held an 8-7shot advantage in the opening half. Framingham State freshman goalie Kia Minor (Oak Bluffs, MA) allowed three goals on the day and made seven saves in a losing effort, while sophomore Julia Tinetti (New Haven, CT) made ten saves and picked up the win for Curry.

The Colonels extended their lead to 3-0 in the 70th minute when Hansbury and Howe connected again for their second of the day.  The Rams picked up their offensive pressure and were able to break into the scoring column in the 89th minute as sophomore Kerry Kiley (Mansfield, MA) found freshman Kim Clooney (Weymouth, MA), who connected for her second goal of the season, to pull the Rams within two goals but that was as close as they would get.

The Rams return to action on Saturday as they travel to Keen State College at 1 p.m.
