Westfield Cruises to 5-0 Win Over Women’s Soccer

Framingham, MA – The Westfield State women's soccer team extended their unbeaten streak in the conference to five games with a commanding 5-0 win over Framingham State on Saturday morning at Maple Street Field. Delaney Parker led the charge with two goals, helping the visitors maintain their perfect conference record. 

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Westfield State 5, Framingham State 0 

  • Records: Westfield State (7-3-4, 4-0-0), Framingham State (2-10-1, 1-2-1) 

  • Location: Maple Street Field, Framingham, MA 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The scoring opened at 6:00 when Morgan Berthiaume struck unassisted for Westfield State. 

  • Jaida Cochran doubled the lead at 15:11, assisted by Berthiaume. 

  • Paige Brandt added a third goal at 26:04 with an assist from Delaney Parker. 

  • Delaney Parker then made it 4-0 just before halftime at 35:38, assisted by Ryan Moran. 

  • The final goal came at 51:56, with Parker scoring her second of the game, assisted by Kiana Muratsuka. 

  • The Rams looked to have gotten on the board midway through the second but the goal was waved off and ruled a hand ball.  

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Shots: Westfield State dominated with 18 shots (10 on goal), while Framingham State managed 8 shots (6 on goal). 

  • Saves: Madison Magone and Kailyn Bearce combined for 5 saves for Framingham State. Westfield's Kayla Santucci and Katie Valentine each played a half and made 3 saves apiece for the shutout. 

  • Corner Kicks: Westfield State earned 5 corner kicks, while Framingham State had 2.
