Women's Soccer Battle to 2-2 Draw with Lasell in Season Opener

Framingham, Mass. – Rams newcomer Bethany Serrano and junior Madison Magone each found the back of the net as the Framingham State women's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw with Lasell University in their 2025 season opener Saturday afternoon at Maple Street Field. 

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Framingham State 2, Lasell 2 

  • Records: Framingham State (0-0-1), Lasell (0-0-1) 

  • Location: Maple Street Field – Framingham, Mass. 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Rams jumped ahead early when Serrano converted a feed from Leiyani Buckner in the 7th minute. 

  • Lasell answered quickly as Ayla Hathaway struck just four minutes later to tie the match 1-1. 

  • With less than ten minutes to play in the first half, Magone tipped in her first goal of the season to put Framingham back on top heading into halftime. 

  • The Lasers found the equalizer in the 51st minute when Camdyn LaMarre finished off a corner from Kiana Morrison to level the match at 2-2. 

  • Both sides had chances down the stretch, but neither could find a winner as the game ended in a draw. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Serrano and Magone tallied the Rams' two goals, while Buckner picked up the lone assist. 

  • Amelia Finley made four saves in net for the Rams, while Lasell's Elizabeth DaSilva also stopped four shots. 

  • Lasell held a 15-10 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. 

  • A physical second half saw multiple yellow cards issued in the final 15 minutes of play.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they host Clark University at 4pm. The Lasers host Mt. St. Mary on Saturday, September 6th at 3pm.
