Women's Soccer Back in the Win Column With 2-1 Win Over Fitchburg

Framingham, MA - The Framingham State Rams defeated the Fitchburg State Falcons with a final score of 2-1 in a closely contested match at Maple Street Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Framingham State opened the scoring in the 25th minute with an unassisted goal by Hailey Ring. 

  • Fitchburg State equalized just before halftime with a goal from Autumn Dwyer, assisted by Noelle Kennedy. 

  • The game-winning goal came in the 59th minute from Leiyani Buckner, who scored unassisted to give the Rams the lead. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Framingham State outshot Fitchburg State 16-9, with 12 shots on goal compared to Fitchburg's 6. 

  • Fitchburg State's goalkeepers, Mia Herron and Madison Dawkins, combined for 10 saves. 

  • The Rams had 3 corner kicks, while the Falcons had 1. 

  • Both teams committed a total of 21 fouls, with Framingham State receiving a yellow card in the 86th minute.
