Women's Soccer Uses Two Penalty Kicks to Force 3-3 Draw With Curry

Framingham, MA – In a thrilling match at Maple St. Field, the Framingham State Rams fought to a 3-3 draw against the Curry Colonels on Wednesday evening. The game was marked by multiple lead changes and a dramatic late equalizer to reach the final decision.  

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Framingham State 3, Curry 3 

  • Records: Framingham State (2-4-2), Curry (2-4-2) 

  • Location: Maple St. Field, Framingham, MA 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Curry opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a goal from Sarah Crusse, assisted by Adelina Young. 

  • Curry regained the lead in the 49th minute with a goal from Nicole Hudson, assisted by Jovi Goldstein. 

  • Framingham State equalized again in the 57th minute when Leiyani Buckner converted a penalty kick after a Curry foul in the box.  

  • Curry took the lead once more in the 81st minute with another goal from Sarah Crusse, assisted by Nicole Hudson. 

  • Framingham State secured the draw in the 89th minute when Bucknor again sunk a penalty kick after a handball was called on a Rams free kick. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Framingham State outshot Curry 13-10. 

  • Lexi Smardon made six saves in goal for Curry.
