Buckner’s Two Goals Leads Women’s Soccer Past UMaine Fort Kent

Framingham, MA –  The Framingham State women's soccer team secured a decisive 2-0 victory over Me.-Fort Kent in non-conference action Saturday afternoon in Framingham.  

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Framingham State 2, Me.-Fort Kent 0 

  • Records: Framingham State (4-5-2), Me.-Fort Kent (3-5-2) 

  • Location: Maple St. Field, Framingham, MA 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • After a scoreless first half, Framingham State broke the deadlock early in the second half. At the 46:13 mark, Leiyani Buckner found the back of the net off a rebounded shot from Grayson Tellier, putting the Rams up 1-0. 

  • Buckner struck again at 79:07, this time unassisted, to double the lead and secure the victory for the Rams. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Framingham State outshot Me.-Fort Kent 15-3, with 10 of those shots on goal. 

  • Savannah Goba earned the win in goal for the Rams, making three saves to secure the shutout. 

  • Me.-Fort Kent's goalkeeper, Dreanna Thaw, made eight saves on 10 shots on goal.

The Rams will return to action on Wednesday when they host UMass Dartmouth at 7pm.
