Women’s Track and Field Places Second at Regis Spring Classic

Weston, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's outdoor track and field team placed second with the 4x400 team and Alyssa Caputo winning events this afternoon at the Regis Spring Classic hosted by Regis College.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams finished the meet in second place with 76 total points which was just eight points behind Worcester State who claimed the top spot with 84 points. 

  • The Rams 4x400 relay team of Grace Avery, Justinne Quinanola, Jamie Moniz and Norah Russell finished first with a time of 4:47.99. 

  • The Rams had two runners finish in the top five of the steeplechase with Grace Avery finishing in third with a time of 13:20. Sarah Campbell crossed the line fifth with a time of 13:39. 

  • Kaylee Beck and Alyssa Caputo led the Rams in the throwing events. Caputo placed first in the discus (35.44M), second in the shotput (11.19M) and 11th in the hammer (32.57M), while Beck finished third in the shot put (10.75M) and 10thin the hammer (34.74M). 

  • Jamie Moniz delivered a fourth place finish in the high jump (1.36M) and seventh in the triple jump (9.81M), while Natalia Grimaldo placed fourth in the 400M hurdles (1:11.98).
