School Records Fall as Women’s Track and Field Opens Season at Gordon

Wenham, Mass. The Framingham State University women's outdoor track and field team opened the 2026 season today at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational hosted by Gordon College and saw four school records fall and the first compete in the pole vault.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • Kate Buban led the Rams with a first place finish in the 10,000m run with a time of 39:31.25 which qualifies her for the DIII New England meet later this spring. 

  • Sarah Campbell and Grace Avery finished first and second in the 3,000m steeple chase. With times of 13:42.83 and 12:53.76. 

  • Cali Leger took the top spot in the shot put with a throw of 9.11m, while Mia McCluskey took ninth with a throw of 7.44m. 

  • Natalie Grimaldo earned third in the 400m hurdles with her time of 1:13.50 

  • Reagan Laprade placed 11th in the 100m hurdles with a new school record time of 19.05 seconds and established a new school record in the pole vault at 7'6.5", while Ashley Caputo placed 14th in the hammer with a toss of 21.87m. 

  • Ellen Child finished ninth in the high jump as she cleared 1.32m, while Emma Foley established a new school record of 4.5m in the long jump. 

  • Meghan Johnston started the year with an eighth place finish in the 800m run at 2:42.07. 

  • The Rams 4x100m relay team set a new school record as they placed fourth with a time of 53.35. Running on the relay for the Rams was Lily Gouveia, Emma FoleyLaprade and Natalie Grimaldo.
