Trudeau and Goode Earn MASCAC All-Conference Honors

Buzzards Bay, Mass. - Junior outside hitter Ashley Trudeau (Rockland, Mass.) was a 2009 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) first team all-conference selection and junior setter/defensive specialist Jessi Goode (Marston Mills, Mass.) was a second team selection in voting conducted by the conference's seven coaches.

Trudeau, who was a first team selection in 2008, is among the conference leaders in hitting percentage (.262), kills (375) and service aces.  She was selected the MASCAC player of the week twice this season and was selected to the All-Tournament teams at the Emerson-Wentworth Tournament, the UMass Dartmouth Invitational and the Bridgewater State Halloween Classic.

Goode, who was also a second team selection in 2008 as a sophomore, split her time at two positions this season.  She began the season as the Rams defensive specialist and still ranks among the conference leaders in digs per game.  Because of an injury to a teammate, Goode moved to setter late in the season and is leading the Rams in assists.

The Rams finished the regular season 14-16 overall and 3-3 in the MASCAC which was good enough for the fourth seed in the MASCAC post season tournament.  The Rams face top seed Westfield State on Saturday with the winner advancing to the conference championship game.
