UMass Dartmouth Outlasts Men’s Ice Hockey

NEW BEDFORD, MASS – The Framingham State men's ice hockey team faced off against the UMass.-Dartmouth Corsairs, falling 3-2 in non-action play on Friday evening in New Bedford.  

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Framingham State opened the scoring early in the first period with an unassisted goal by Connor McLachlan at 1:53. 

  • Mass.-Dartmouth quickly responded with a power-play goal by Alex Walker, assisted by Chris Cardillo and Tyler Stewart at 2:41. 

  • The Corsairs took the lead at 3:34 with a goal from Brogan Shea, assisted by Chris Cardillo. 

  • In the second period, Mass.-Dartmouth extended their lead with a goal from Vincent Nicosia, assisted by Kevin Johnston and Tyler Stewart at 9:42. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Mass.-Dartmouth's Samuel Boos stopped 25 of 27 shots. 

  • Framingham State went 0-for-3 on the power play, while Mass.-Dartmouth converted 2 of 5 opportunities. 

  • Mass.-Dartmouth's Vincent Nicosia, Tyler Stewart, and Samuel Boos were named the three stars of the game.
