Men's Soccer Edged by Gordon

Wenham, Mass. – The Framingham State men's soccer team fell 4-2 to Gordon College in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon. Despite taking a lead early in the second half, the Rams were unable to hold off the Gordon attack. 

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Gordon 4, Framingham State 2 

  • Records: Framingham State (0-4-2), Gordon (2-3-2) 

  • Location: The Quad – Wenham, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Gordon struck first just 6 minutes into the game when Moises Montano found the back of the net off an assist from Gilbert Daru. However, Framingham State responded quickly. In the 13th minute, Gustav Hemmingsen equalized with an unassisted goal after a strong individual effort. 

 
  • The Rams took the lead early in the second half when Kaio Santos Da Silva scored at the 47th minute, assisted by Hemmingsen. This gave Framingham a 2-1 advantage, but the lead would not last long. Gordon's Cortez Cardone tied the game at 2-2 in the 61st minute off another assist from Daru. 

 
  • Gordon's Montano was the difference-maker, completing a hat-trick with two more goals late in the second half. He scored the go-ahead goal in the 78th minute off a pass from Cole Levis, and sealed the game with an unassisted strike in the 87th minute to give Gordon the 4-2 win.
