Softball Drops Two at Nichols

Dudley, Mass. - The Framingham State University softball team suffered a pair of losses this afternoon at Nichols by scores of 13-3 in five innings and 4-1 at the Nichols Softball Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

Game 1: Nichols 13Framingham 3 

• In the opener, the Rams took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI triple to right from Jocelyn Pepe. 

• The Bison tied the game with a single run in the bottom of the third and exploded for 12 runs in the fourth opening a 13-1 lead. 

• The Rams plated a pair of runs in the top of the fifth on an RBI single from Kate Brodzinski and an RBI fielder's choice from Cali Leger to reach the final score. 

• Julianna Chisholm took the loss in the circle for the Rams, going 3.1 innings allowing six earned runs on five hits with two walks. 

Game 2: Framingham 4 

• In game two, the Rams took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI double to right from Pepe. 

• Nichols tied the game in the third inning before taking a 4-1 lead for good with three runs in the fourth. 

• Audrey Gauthier took the loss in the circle going six innings, allowing four earned runs on eight hits with three strikeouts. 

• Pepe finished the game 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Brooke Grassia finished the game 1-for-2.
