Softball Chosen to Finish Third in 2026 MASCAC Preseason Poll
Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University softball team has been chosen to finish third in the 2026 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Preseason Poll in voting conducted by the league's coaches and announced by the conference office this afternoon.
The Rams claimed the third spot with 52 total points and one first place vote after compiling a 27-15 record a season ago, including a 10-4 record in league play. The Rams advanced to the MASCAC Tournament finals in 2025. Returning for the Rams in 2026 is junior Eliza Carignan. Carignan earned first team All-MASCAC honors in 2026 after batting .336 with 11 runs scored, 37 hits including 11 doubles with 28 RBI.
Worcester State took the top spot in the poll with 60 points and five first place votes, while Westfield State claimed second with 58 points and the remaining three first place votes. Salem State took the fourth spot with 41 points, and Bridgewater State slipped into fifth with 39 points. MCLA claimed the sixth spot with 26 points, while Mass. Maritime took seventh with 21 points. Fitchburg State (14) and Anna Maria (13) round out the poll in eighth and ninth.
The Rams open the 2026 season on Saturday, March 7th at home against Hartford.
