Women's Basketball Opens MASCAC Action with 79-72 Setback at Westfield State

Westfield, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's basketball team opened league play this evening and were defeated 79-72 by Westfield State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at the Woodward Center.

-Records: Framingham State (7-6, 0-1 MASCAC), Westfield State (8-5, 1-0 MASCAC)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were paced by a game-high 33 points from Katherine Haselton. Haselton connected on 9-of-19 from the floor including 4-of-8 from behind the arc, while also going a perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line. Haselton added 10 rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block. 

  • Jacqueline Schels was the only other Ram to record double figures as she tallied 10 points with six rebounds and two steals. 

  • Faith Greene finished the night with eight points and seven boards, while Michelle Moreno and Chloe Rayko chipped in with six points apiece.
