Women's Basketball Falls to Bridgewater State in MASCAC Action

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's basketball team was defeated 77-57 by Bridgewater State University this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Logan Gymnasium.

-Records: Framingham State (7-7, 0-2 MASCAC), Bridgewater State (8-6, 1-1 MASCAC)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams received 17 points and six rebounds from Katherine Haselton, while Faith Greene finished the game with 15 points, six rebounds and two steals. 

  • Jacqueline Schels chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds with a pair of blocks, while Abigail Martin finished the day with four points, nine rebounds and two steals. 

  • After trading the lead, the Bears used an 8-0 run to open up an 11-4 lead with 6:30 to play in the first.  The Rams closed the gap to 14-9 on a Faith Greene bucket, but the Bears closed the quarter outscoring the Rams 4-1 to lead 18-10 after one. 

  • The Rams opened the second quarter and cut the deficit to 20-15 before Bridgewater State surged out to a 31-15 lead with just under four to play in the quarter and eventually took a 39-24 lead into the half.  

  • The Bears maintained a double digit lead throughout the second half as they went on to secure the league victory. The victory was the 400th of her coaching career for Bears' head coach Bridget Casey.
