Women's Basketball Opens Season with 68-56 Victory over Salve Regina

Newport, RI - The Framingham State University women's basketball team saw four players record double figures as the Rams opened the season with a 68-56 victory over Salve Regina University in non-conference action at the Rodgers Recreation Center.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by 15 points from Jacqueline Schels. Schels connected on 6-of-11 from the floor and added three rebounds and a steal. 

  • Abigail Martin came off the bench to score 14 points for the Rams as she connected on 6-of-14 from the floor and grabbed a team-best seven rebounds with two assists and three blocks. 

  • Ava McKeon added 10 points and three rebounds as she connected on 2-of-4 from the field including 2-of-3 from behind the arc. 

  • The Rams shot 40% from the field in game and 20% from behind the arc, while holding the Seahawks to just 29% shooting in the game and just 24% from long range.
