Strong Second Half Propels Clark Past Women’s Basketball

Worcester, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's basketball team led by a point at the half but surrendered a big third quarter to Clark as the Rams were defeated 80-62 this evening in non-conference action.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by 19 points from Jacqueline Schels. Schels connected on 3-of-6 from the floor and went 12-for-14 at the line. She added four rebounds and four blocks. 

  • Faith Greene finished the night with 19 points on 7-of-14 from the floor, including 2-of-2 from long range. Greene added three rebounds. 

  • Kiara Cerruti finished the night with seven points and five rebounds, while Abigail Martin added four points, seven rebounds and nine assists. 

  • The first quarter saw eight ties and six lead changes, and neither team leading by more than five and the Rams going to the second quarter leading 14-12. 

  • The second quarter remained tight with the Rams maintaining the lead throughout the quarter and taking a 29-28 lead into the locker room.  Faith Greene paced the Rams with 13 first half points as she connected on 5-of-9 from the floor. 

  • Clark used a strong third quarter where they outscored the Rams 30-19 to retake the lead for good. Clark capitalized on 11 Ram turnovers in the quarter to score 22 of the 30 points.
