Women's Ice Hockey Defeats Anna Maria 7-4

WORCESTER, MASS – The Framingham State women's hockey team earned a 7-4 victory over Anna Maria on Friday night at the Worcester Ice Center, improving their conference record to 1-5-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Anna Maria opened the scoring when Suri Roberts netted her third goal of the season at 6:10 of the first period, assisted by Mia Provenzo.
  • Framingham State responded with two unanswered goals in the opening frame. Finley Hogan scored unassisted at 7:52, followed by Alexis Brown's unassisted tally at 11:29 to give the Rams a 2-1 lead after one period.
  • The second period saw explosive offensive action with six combined goals. Molly Murphy extended Framingham State's lead at 1:46, assisted by Rose Brien. Anna Maria's Quinn Bennett pulled within one at 4:47 on a goal assisted by Ceilia Nolan.
  • Framingham State then seized control with three consecutive goals. Jamie Webster scored at 6:05 (assist: Petra Cernicek), Alexis Brown netted the game-winning goal at 6:34 (assist: Sarah Lewis), and Amy Tansek added another at 11:53 (assist: Ella Conway) to make it 6-2.
  • Anna Maria cut the deficit to 6-3 when Alexandra Petersen scored on the power play at 19:36 of the second period, assisted by Quinn Bennett and Jada Kosowan.
  • In the third period, Anna Maria's Aliana Gibson scored a short-handed unassisted goal at 10:23 to make it 6-4.
  • Lily Wilson sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 18:34 to cap the 7-4 final.
