Women's Ice Hockey Falls Short as Rivier Holds Off Late Rally, 3-2
NASHUA, N.H. – The Framingham State women's ice hockey team mounted a third-period comeback but ultimately fell 3-2 to Rivier on Friday night at Nashua. Chloe Bryda scored twice for the Raiders, including the game-winning power-play goal, while Lila Chamoun made 50 saves in a valiant effort in net for the Rams.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rivier controlled play through the first two periods, outshooting Framingham State 37-21 over the first 40 minutes. Bryda opened the scoring at 14:29 of the first period with an unassisted even-strength goal to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead heading into the break.
- Rebecca McKelvey doubled the Rivier advantage at 9:06 of the second period, finishing off feeds from Maeve Kelly and Lillian Wojcicki to make it 2-0.
- Framingham State came alive in the third. Molly Murphy cut the deficit to one at 10:58, scoring her seventh of the season with an assist from Rylee Bogren. Rivier answered quickly, however, as Bryda buried an unassisted power-play goal at 13:49 — the game-winner — while Amy Tansek sat for hooking.
- Rylee Bogren pulled the Rams back within one again at 16:09 with her fourth of the season, assisted by Alexis Brown. Framingham State pulled Chamoun for the extra attacker in the final minute and generated several chances, but Taylor Bruno and the Rivier defense held firm to preserve the victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Rivier outshot Framingham State 53-34, including a dominant 24-10 edge in the second period.
- Chamoun stopped 50 of 53 shots for Framingham State; Bruno turned aside 32 of 34 for Rivier.
- The Rams went 0-for-3 on the power play; Rivier converted 1-of-5.
- Framingham State was called for five penalties for 10 minutes; Rivier had three penalties for six minutes.
- Rivier won 37 of 60 faceoffs (61.7%). Lillian Wojcicki led all skaters going 9-4 at the dot, while Finley Hogan led the Rams at 6-16.
- Bogren led all Rams skaters with nine shots on goal and finished with a goal and an assist.
